Pittsburgh Obama High School has postponed the May 3 and 4 performances of its 2013 musical, "Once on This Island," "due to unforeseen circumstances involving cast members," the city school said in a statement.
The school's online newspaper, The Eagle, reported that the spring musical production had been canceled "after a traumatizing Thursday evening."
The report said one performer dislocated his knee, which resulted in the cancellation of the performance. The story said another performer learned that her father had suddenly passed away.
The school's statement included information on the district's "Spring Into Arts" celebration program on May 4. It said the musical would be "postponed until further notice" and did not speculate on rescheduling the final performances of the run.
