Western Beaver blanks Union

Hunter Roknich rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, accounting for more than half of the game's points, as host Western Beaver defeated Union, 20-0, in a Class A Big Seven Conference game.

Roknich, a junior running back, had a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, followed by a 6-yard touchdown run in the second. Senior Billy Drear's 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter finished the team's scoring.

The shutout was the Golden Beavers' first since a 36-0 victory against South Side Beaver in 2011.

With the victory, Western Beaver (2-2, 2-1) moved into a three-way tie for third place in the conference.

The Scotties fell to 1-2 in conference play and 2-2 overall.

• Wilkinsburg 16, Northgate 0: Junior Montay Clancy rushed for 72 yards and a second-quarter touchdown as the host Tigers (2-2, 2-2) defeated the Flames (1-3, 1-3) in a Class A Eastern Conference game. Junior Marcus Williams had a game-high 96 yards on 26 carries. Senior Ryan Cox rushed for 40 yards on eight carries and had the game's final touchdown, a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.

• Mapletown 36, Geibel Catholic 14: Junior Adam Hein rushed for two touchdowns in the first half as the Maples (2-2, 1-2) scored 22 first-quarter points en route to a victory against the host Gators (0-4, 0-3) in a Class A Tri-County South Conference game. Senior Colby Kincell rushed for a game-high 119 yards and a touchdown for Mapletown. Geibel scored its first points of the season in the loss.
