Chris Saluga has resigned as Chartiers Valley's football coach.

After being hired in 2001, Saluga turned around Chartiers Valley's program and made it highly respectable, making the WPIAL playoffs eight times. Previously, Chartiers Valley had made the playoffs only twice. His '07 and '09 teams won eight games, second most in school history.

"There's no reason except that it's time for me to move on professionally and time for the program to move on," Saluga said. "I love Chartiers Valley. It's a great district. I wish we could've done even more, but I walk away proud of what we did here."
