Montour High School senior Devin Wilson, the Post-Gazette basketball player of the year, has decided to play at Virginia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Wilson, a 6-foot-3 point guard, accepted a scholarship from Virginia Tech and made a verbal commitment tonight to the Hokies. He will sign a binding letter of intent with Virginia Tech later this week.
Wilson chose Virginia Tech over George Mason and St. Joseph's. Virginia Tech didn't start recruiting Wilson until last month. Some other schools didn't start recruiting Wilson until February.
"When I got up there, I really liked the campus," Wilson said of Virginia Tech. "I think a bond grew with the coaches. Plus, to play very high basketball in the ACC is a great opportunity."
