Her Cavaliers team struggled for much of the season, finishing 6-16 overall and 5-9 in section play, but Antone had a strong final season of high school basketball, averaging 18.2 points per game. ... In her team's six wins this season, Antone averaged 21.7 points per game, including a 30-point effort in a win against Albert Gallatin on Jan. 4. ... This is the third season in a row she was selected for the East Xtra Fabulous Five all-star team.

After a good sophomore season, Burns averaged 18.3 points per game while leading the Spartans to a 19-4 record and a Class AAAA Section 1 title. ... She helped lead Hempfield to 12 consecutive wins in the middle of the season, a stretch in which it beat teams by an average of 23.7 points per game, with only two of those games decided by single digits. Her top scoring game of the season (28 points) was against Penn Hills on Dec. 10.

Entering the season as one of the top returning players in the area, Gregory did not disappoint in her final season of high school basketball, leading all WPIAL scorers (boys and girls) with 30.4 points per game. ... Gregory led the Jayhawks to a Class AA Section 3 title and a spot in the WPIAL semifinals, averaging 34.2 points per game in the team's three-game WPIAL run. She will be playing her college basketball at Charlotte.

Playing alongside her sister -- Claire, a sophomore -- Oberdorf averaged a team-high 16.8 points per game (0.5 more than her sister). ... While doing that, she led her team to a three-win improvement from last season and an appearance in the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs. ... She helped the Golden Lions become the highest-scoring team in Section 3. ... She is also a standout on the softball diamond, serving as the Lions top pitcher.

Pietropola helped lead coach Bernie Pucka's Mustangs to their most wins (17) since the 1983-84 season, as far back as the Post-Gazette's records go, and a berth in the WPIAL Class AAAA playoffs. The Mustangs finished just a game behind section co-champs Gateway and Fox Chapel. ... She averaged 16.8 points per game, improving from what was already a strong sophomore season, on a team with just two seniors on the roster.
