Penn State Master Gardeners have organized a garden tour in Ohio on July 19-20. The trip includes stops at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Lantern Court at the Holden Arboretum and Bluestone Perennials. There will also be a winery tour and tasting with dinner and music.
The Cleveland Botanical Garden includes indoor exhibits in a spectacular glasshouse and 10 acres of outdoor exhibits, including a perennial border, herb, woodland and Japanese gardens.
Built in the 1930s for the Corning family, Lantern Court includes a magnificent perennial border, rose and wildflower garden, rockery and hosta collections.
The cost is $265 and includes luxury motor coach travel, hotel accommodations, two breakfasts and lunches, full-course dinner, admission to the Cleveland Botanical Garden and Lantern Court, tour and tasting at DeBonne Winery, all gratuities. The bus will depart from the Penn State Extension office in Point Breeze at 7 a.m. July 19.
