A multi-county organization facilitated by the Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania is offering assistance to those affected by the flash floods over the last few weeks.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Long Term Recovery Task Force is seeking volunteers interested in helping individuals impacted by the flood, including assisting with mucking and decontaminating basements and deconstructing water-damaged materials.

Homeowners who sustained damage to the place of their residence should call 211 or 1-888-553-5778 to report a need for assistance. The help line will then forward information to a local disaster recovery site, according to the group.

Three deployment sites are established: Resurrection Lutheran Church in Oakdale, South Hills Interfaith Ministries in Bethel Park and Central Highlands United Methodist Church in Elizabeth.
