Created seven years ago, the Allegheny County Bar Association's "This is a Joke -- Making Fun of Others is Not" sends attorneys to local elementary schools to discuss what types of jokes are offensive and how those jokes affect people who are targeted.
Despite the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act in 1990, advocates for people with disabilities say they still face discriminatory hiring practices because of mistaken notions that they will cost the company money.
The Onyx Woman Network reaches thousands of black women and women of color throughout the country, creating a web of professionals to exchange ideas, showcase businesses and provide networking opportunities via its website, e-newsletter, magazine, and seminars.
