Dear Marlene Parrish: A friend sent me your terrific Post-Gazette story ["Book Club dessert was a forgery, too," Food & Flavor, June 20]. Mock apple pie was brilliant! I wish I'd thought of it.
I meant for the book to be fun, because you might fear when you heard the subject -- psychology, art history -- that you were in for an earnest slog. And we didn't want that.
