Looking for a few new recipes for the upcoming football season? Then you'll want to attend the Post-Gazette's Pittsburgh Gameday Festival from noon to 5 p.m. on Aug. 25 at Heinz Field.
Part of the multi-city "dash Around the Table Tour" live cooking show featuring dash Chef Jon Ashton, the football-themed culinary event is cooking up plenty of ideas for your next tailgate.
Entry buys you food and beverage samplings, local chef demos (including one by "Hell's Kitchen" finalist Elise Wims), a food-themed marketplace and autograph sessions with Steelers alumni and other celebrities. Attendees also will receive door prizes and a goodie bag, and get the chance to win a $4,000 Kenmore Elite refrigerator.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis will host the dash show, which runs from 3 to 5 p.m.
Tickets are $12 in advance ($15 at the door) and $5 for kids ages 12 and under. A VIP ticket costs $50 and includes a meet-and-greet cocktail reception prior to the event with Chef Ashton, Mr. Bettis and other celebrities, premium seating to the live cooking show and a VIP giftbag.
