Jamie Oliver to speak at One Young World Summit

Celebrity chef and campaigner for better food Jamie Oliver is coming to Pittsburgh this fall.

The British author and broadcaster is one of the "counsellors" for One Young World Summit, a gathering of future world leaders that's meeting for the first time in the United States in Pittsburgh from Oct. 18-22.

Some 1,300 young delegates from 190 different countries are expected to gather here to debate and formulate solutions for pressing world issues, guided by counsellors. Those announced last week include Chef Oliver (who also was a counselor at last year's summit in Zurich) as well as Huffington Post CEO Arianna Huffington, musician/activist Bob Geldof, author Fatima Bhutto, politician Imran Khan, Wikipedia CEO Jimmy Wales, musician Joss Stone, Grameen Bank founder and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mohammad Yunus, model Natalia Vodianova, One Million Voices Against the FARC founder Oscar Morales, Mashable CEO Pete Cashmore and Indian National Congress general-secretary Rahul Gandhi. More are to be announced.
