While West Coast fashionistas soak up the trends of L.A. Fashion Week, the fashion scene in New York still is romanticizing about the dresses spotted at Bridal Week.
Dozens of designers shared their upcoming wedding gown collections at shows across the Big Apple with media and industry insiders. Here were some of the week's top looks:
Burst of color: Watch out white! A flurry of soft, feminine colors are picking up popularity as alternatives to traditional white. Blush, taupe, ivory and even bubblegum pink are some of the options that will be on the market for brides wanting to add a pop of color to their big day.
Gold and glamorous: Gowns doused in gold embroidery and ornate beading will give ladies a luxe look as they say "I do."
Sleeves: Perhaps inspired by a lingering love of all things Kate Middleton, gowns with lace sleeves, similar to those the Duchess wore on her wedding day, are infusing bridal collections with conservative yet sensual class.
Halter-style: Gowns that wrap or tie around the neck can possess a sporty flair, but mix them with glitz, sheers and a figure-flattering fit and they're ideal for those seeking more coverage than strapless, v-neck and sweetheart necklines tend to provide.
Short and sweet: Walk down the aisle with ease, thanks to cocktail dress-length gowns that skim just above the knee.
