For those planning to fly Virgin America, the friendly skies are about to get a little more stylish.
In honor of the airline's fifth anniversary, it has teamed up with Banana Republic to design new uniforms for pilots and in-flight and airport staffers. The "utility chic" line offers leather jackets, sweaters with striped sleeves, lined mac coats and woven shirts and pants for men and pencil skirts, slim dresses, trousers, silk print scarves, trenches and leather outerwear for women.
For passengers who like what they see, they can purchase for a limited time aviator sunglasses, trenches for men and women and totes inspired by the apparel for Virgin America via the airline's Red in-flight entertainment shop platform.
The clothes debut Wednesday at an airport near you.

Urban Outfitters bed bug scare: Recently one of the retail chain's Manhattan locations was visited by some unwanted shoppers -- bed bugs. But not to worry, everything is under control, the company says. According to an official statement from the Urban Outfitters public relations team, "two isolated bed bug-related incidents occurred in employee-only areas" of its store at 14th Street and Sixth Avenue in July, but treatment was "immediately implemented" by a third-party exterminator. In follow-up inspections, no more critters have been detected.
"We hate bed bugs as much as everyone else and will continue to be proactive in keeping them out of our stores," the statement says.
Rumors of new Victoria's Secret store cause a stir overseas: Not everyone wants a peek at Victoria's secret. The London Evening Standard reports that some upscale shop owners along New Bond Street in London are not rolling out the welcome mat for the lingerie store, a potential new neighbor. Concerns stem from what kind of crowds the store's scantily clad clothes and window displays may bring to the area. But according to Vogue UK, some nearby retailers, such as Fenwick, are denying those concerns.
The first Victoria's Secret store in the United Kingdom opened in late July at the Westford Stratford shopping center, near Olympic Park.
