Stylebook: Jason Wu designs line for Nordstrom, plus changes at JC Penney, Lady Gaga's fragrance debut and more

Jason Wu has partnered with Nordstrom on a contemporary apparel line called Miss Wu.

Where will we find Wu next? Apparently, at Nordstrom.
After designing a capsule collection for Target earlier this year, American fashion sweetheart Jason Wu has partnered with the fine department store chain to produce a contemporary line named after his signature owl logo, Miss Wu.
Expect girly prints, skirts, A-line dresses and more for spring to arrive at 49 Nordstrom locations in January, according to Women's Wear Daily. Apparel also will be available at www.nordstrom.com. The line will go for about $195 to $795.

Pink Party with a Purpose benefit fashion show: Chelsea's of New York, Maniac Magazine and Clique Vodka invite guests to support the American Heart Association Pittsburgh chapter's "Go Red for Women" campaign at the second annual event. This year's festivities will include a cocktail party, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, raffles and a runway show starring more than 20 models donning gowns, costumes and clubwear.
It's 8 p.m. Saturday at Villa Southside, 1831 E. Carson St. The fashion show will begin at 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance at www.PinkPartyPittsburgh.Eventbrite.com, or $20 at the door. Must be at least 21 years old to attend.
Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer at the New Hazlett Theater: Browse apparel, artwork, housewares, records and more at a gathering of vintage sellers and handmade retro-inspired goods at the theater on the North Side. Guests also will be treated to music, food and cocktails while they shop.
It's 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free except for the early bird sale from 8 to 9 a.m., which costs $5 at the door. Information: Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer on Facebook.
Deadline approaching for Project Style contest: The Mall at Robinson is searching for Pittsburgh's most fashion-savvy girls and guys age 13 and older to share their personal style and compete for a $1,000 shopping spree and a chance to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City in February.
Winners of the first two rounds are Anna Amprim of North Charleroi and Gianna Paniagua of O'Hara, respectively. Voting for a Round 3 winner is in progress. Aug. 1 is the last day to apply for Round 4.
In September, the winner from each round, plus a wild-card finalist, will compete in a live Style-Off contest that will crown Pittsburgh's top trendsetter. This champ, along with trendsetter victors from across the country, will vie for the grand prize in a final round to be judged by "Project Runway" designer Nick Verreos and "How Do I Look?" host Jeannie Mai.
Discover a model's world in HBO documentary: Ever pondered what a day in the life of a model is like? "About Face: Supermodels Then and Now" by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders tells the story of the surgeries, party scenes, successes, struggles and more through the models who experienced them. JC Penney may scale back store clerks: New CEO Ron Johnson, formerly of Apple, wants to mix things up. One of his latest ideas is to cut back on checkout clerks. Consumer websites are reporting that by 2014 bar codes will be swapped for RFID tags so customers can scan their merchandise without assistance. But not to worry -- the store promises there still will be personnel on site to serve shoppers in other capacities. Hopefully so, because we all may need some help removing those tricky plastic security tags while checking ourselves out.
Lady Gaga teases new fragrance with Formulation video: Leave it to Gaga to build anticipation among her little monsters by making an artsy black-and-white trailer that takes viewers into the exotic Haus Laboratories in Paris where shirtless scientists concoct the Lady Gaga Fame scent. Search "Lady Gaga formulation" on YouTube.com to check it out. The fragrance, which is black but turns clear when spritzed, is expected to launch by September.
