The decision to launch a metered pay wall and charge for our content grows out of our fundamental belief that excellence in local reporting of news, sports, health, lifestyles, business and the arts has great value to our customers in print and on the web. It also grows out of our faith that our customers recognize that value. First-class reporting, editing and visual-art elements are expensive, and news organizations like ours increasingly recognize that they cannot survive if they provide content for free that is costly to produce.

For residents within the PG’s home-delivery area, an All-Access Print + Digital subscription provides the option of Daily (7-day), Weekend (Thursday-Sunday) or Sunday-only delivery of the print edition, plus unlimited digital access to post-gazette.com, our tablet and smartphone news apps, SteelersNation app, mobile site, and two e-editions: PGe and The Pittsburgh Press.

Those not interested in receiving home-delivery service or those outside the PG’s delivery area can sign up for an All-Access Digital subscription, which provides the unlimited access to the same Post-Gazette online products listed above.

Yes, all home-delivery print customers have an All-Access Digital package included in their existing subscription (offer subject to change). To activate, just visit our registration page to link your print account and new digital subscription.

Non-subscribers may view a limited number of Post-Gazette articles online every 30 days. Content that counts toward this allotment includes all articles, columns (staff, guest and syndicated), editorials, staff blogs and archived material dating back to 1998. Content that does not count toward this limit include the post-gazette.com homepage and all section fronts, PG Plate, Pipeline, Community Voices blogs, Classifieds, Cars, Jobs, Real Estate, Obituaries, PG Store, the events calendar and any content accessed through social media. Non-subscribers may post comments on articles, although registration is required.

PG+ no longer exists as a stand-alone website. Its content will be moved to the Staff Blogs section of post-gazette.com. The best news for PG+ members: from now through the end of your current paid subscription term, your PG+ membership will be replaced by a full All-Access Digital subscription – at no additional charge. After that time, your subscription will automatically renew at the All-Access Digital subscription rates so that your access to the PG’s exclusive, in-depth sports coverage will not be interrupted.

In order to access your digital subscription benefits, look for an email from the PG+ team with details on how to register for an account and link to your existing membership.

No. All-Access Digital subscriptions include unlimited access to all of the Post-Gazette's digital products, including post-gazette.com, our mobile site, Pro Sports apps, our tablet and smartphone news apps, and our e-editions.

SteelersNation is available as a free download, but non-subscribers may view a limited number of page views per month. Non-subscribers can purchase the SteelersNation app either as part of the Sports App Package here or as part of an All-Access Digital subscription. Home-delivery customers paying for full-price for their newspaper subscription receive unlimited SteelersNation access as part of their paid subscription.

IceHouse is available as a free download, but non-subscribers may view a limited number of page views per month. Non-subscribers can purchase the IceHouse app either as part of the Sports App Package here, or as part of an All-Access Digital subscription. Home-delivery customers paying for full-price for their newspaper subscription receive unlimited IceHouse access as part of their paid subscription.

Yes. Stories that are accessed through social media, including Facebook and Twitter, do not require a subscription and will not count toward your limit.

Yes. Articles that are accessed via a search engine like Google or Bing count toward your monthly limit.

All major credit cards are accepted. Subscriptions are billed through our EZ Pay plan on the debit or credit card of your choice. You will be charged on your renewal date (the date you signed up) and your subscription will be renewed automatically unless you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. When you cancel, no further charges will be applied after your request is processed. Your unlimited access will continue for the remainder of the current period. A refund will not be issued for unused digital access. Once your subscription ends, you will still be able to view a limited number of articles a month on post-gazette.com just like any other visitor.

You need to be an All-Access Print or Digital subscriber to read an unlimited amount of articles every 30 days. If you are already an All-Access Digital subscriber, log in with the username and password that you created when registering on post-gazette.com. If you are a print subscriber who pays for full-price for your subscription, visit our registration page to link your print account to your existing digital access.

At this time, we are not able to connect your e-reader subscription to post-gazette.com. E-reader subscriptions must be handled separately.

Yes. Viewing an article that you've already read will count toward your limit.

A pop-up alert will appear on your screen when you have two articles remaining and when you reach your 30-day limit.

No. You don't have to be a digital subscriber in order to receive Post-Gazette e-mail newsletters. If you aren't a digital subscriber, the articles that you access through Post-Gazette e-mail newsletters will count toward your limit.

No. You may not share your login credentials (username and password).
