Dante DiIanni, who has been a cabinetmaker for 14 years, leads this class on using hand planes in woodworking.
Hand planes are central to the mastery of fine woodworking. Most "fresh out-of-the-box" planes, as well as all of the bargains you find at a flea market need to be tuned before they can be effective. Each class member will tune a smoothing plane. The techniques as applied to block planes will be discussed.
Quality hand planes are to be provided by each student. Please discuss your tools and any planned purchase with the instructor prior to the class. For more information, call (412) 331-0009.
