After 20 years at the helm of the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, founder and executive director Ann Dugan announced her departure.
Ms. Dugan, who started the Institute with a budget of less than $300,000 and raised more than $22 million for the Institute during her tenure, will step down from her position as executive director and an assistant dean in the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School in the first quarter of 2014. Dugan's efforts have been recognized with the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a recognition that lead to partnerships with institutions and universities across the country.
Ms. Dugan will stay on to help the Institute find and train her successor.
