The new School Performance Profiles released by the state last week are drawing attention particularly from parents, said acting Education Secretary Carolyn Dumaresq.
During a phone news conference today, Ms. Dumaresq said the new site has received more than 50,000 unique visitors, 40 percent of whom are parents.
The site is paschoolperformance.org.
The profiles include a single number -- from 0 to 100, plus up to seven points for extra credit -- for schools throughout the state.
So far, more than 2,300 profiles have been released. Fifty-one more are to be released later today as a result of superintendents asking for their data to be released even though there are some questions about portions of it.
The remaining 550 -- plus any changes in the 51 -- are expected to be released in December after questions about their Keystone Exams data are resolved.
Ms. Dumaresq said some additions will be made to the site today, including a list of schools by counties.
