Pittsburgh Public Schools approves personnel changes

The Pittsburgh Public Schools board Wednesday night approved principal and other personnel changes.

The board accepted the resignation of deputy superintendent Jeannine French, who has been named superintendent of the Peters Township School District.

Other changes include:

• Robert Scherrer, principal of Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy, resigned, effective July 25. Mr. Scherrer has accepted an administrative post in the North Allegheny School District. Shawn McNeil, who was director at Sci-Tech, was named principal.

• Ethel Flam, principal of Pittsburgh Grandview K-5, retired, effective June 29. Sharon Fisher, who was a principal in the Steel Valley School District, was named principal of Grandview.

• Cynthia Wallace, principal of Pittsburgh Montessori PreK-8, resigned, effective June 30. A replacement has not been named.

• Aisha Robinson, who had been a teacher at Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12, was named assistant principal of Westinghouse 6-12, effective July 1.

A new position of common core curriculum coordinator was created but was not filled.
