Upper St. Clair High School principal named Pennsylvania principal of the year

The Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals named Upper St. Clair High School principal Michael P. Ghilani its 2013 principal of the year.

Mr. Ghilani joined the district as high school assistant principal/dean of students in 2001 and became principal in 2006.

A district press release today said his "open door policy" has helped to foster communication and helped form new programs, including the Asian Studies program, Student Leadership Academy, student mentoring program and the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) program and STEM center.
