MARC USA announced that TJ Crawford has joined as director, interactive strategy.

Association and Organization

Cyril H. Wecht, M.D. and J.D., was appointed as both a member of the board of governors, and as professor of pathology, forensic medicine, healthcare management, and health law in the recently established American University of Sovereign Nations School of Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz.


First Commonwealth Financial Corp. elected James G. Barone to its board of directors. Mr. Barone previously served as executive vice president, secretary and treasurer for S&T Bancorp Inc., as well as president of S&T Investment Company, a subsidiary of S&T Bancorp.

Citizens Bank hired the following branch managers: Kenneth McDaniel, Coraopolis office; Ernest Leskovitz, Homestead office; Lisa Miller, North Versailles office; and Jeremy Sharper, Wood Street office (Downtown).

S&T Bank appointed Reid Smith as commercial lender.

Contractor & Construction

Burns & Scalo promoted Cari Hopkins, customer relations manager; Kyle Spanos, repair and maintenance division project manager; Rehann Rheel, repair and maintenance client services coordinator; and Mike McKown, operating manager for the commercial roofing division.


PWCampbell hired Stacey M. Shaffer as regional vice president, sales and marketing team.


Universal Electric Corp. hired Clint Skinner as the Northern Europe region sales manager.


David Phillips was promoted to manager of marketing and communications at Heyl & Patterson Inc.

Stantec promoted the following individuals in its Western Pennsylvania architecture practice: Leslie Fitchwell and Carl Shilling, principals; Nicki Harrington, senior associate; Christy Lederer, George Rieke, Nate Werner and Alicia Wolfe, associates.


Allegheny Valley Hospital is pleased to welcome obstetrician/gynecologist Christian Borberg Franceschi to its medical staff.

Andrea Clark Smith joined the senior staff of UPMC as senior associate counsel and vice president of employee relations.


The Wyndham Grand Downtown Pittsburgh hired Bryan Forsythe as hotel manager.


Greycourt appointed Jim Foster, chief investment officer.


The Northland Public Library Foundation named new members to its board: Edward "Tony" Dills, CPA and retired CFO of Beckwith Machinery, and Jeremy Shaffer, director of transportation, asset management at Bentley Systems.


The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation elected Jack Norris as its chair of the board of trustees. Mr. Norris, who retired in April as managing director of the Pittsburgh office of CBRE Group Inc.


Lynn Giglione, president, Chartwell Pennsylvania, received the Gene Graves Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Home Infusion Association annual meeting for her dedication, commitment and leadership in the practice of home infusion therapy.

Harvey Mazel, account executive, WTAE, received the 2012 Eagle Award, Hearst Television's highest honor for sales excellence. Mr. Mazel was recognized at WTAE's 23nd annual Eagle Award Presentation held last month. The Eagle Award is given at Hearst Television stations across the country and is designed to recognize outstanding performance by a sales person during the past year.

Greg DeFeo, president, Pittsburgh Technical Institute, received the 2013 Diamond Award presented by the Pittsburgh Business Times. Mr. DeFeo is one of four individuals selected for the Pittsburgh Business Times' 2013 Diamond Awards in the Large Company category. The award recognizes top CEOs and presidents for outstanding business leadership, customer focus and community service in the Pittsburgh region.
