Dck worldwide, through its operating entity dck-ecc pacific guam construction LLC, signed an agreement with Taisei Corp. to pursue and execute work in Guam funded by the Government of Japan. The $3 billion Mamizu multiple award construction contract is intended to be used by the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific for the design and construction of infrastructure and facilities projects in Guam to accommodate the upcoming transfer of U.S. Marines from Okinawa to Guam.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Inc. named as its coprorate accounting firm of record McCrory & McDowell, which will provide audit and tax services.


Variety the Children's Charity was awarded a grant of $7,500 by the FISA Foundation to support Camp Variety for Kids at The Woodlands in Marshall in August.

Beyond Blast delivers the coolant directly to the juncture where the tool edge meets the material, ensuring longer tool life, better cutting performance and chip control, and more efficient coolant delivery, heat transfer and lubricity.

The Ironworker Employers Association of Western Pennsylvania honored six, along with their employers, as winners of the 15th Annual John P. The Sign Language Interpreting Professionals awarded Highmark its third annual SLIP'r Award. The award is presented to businesses and organizations that continually demonstrate a commitment to improving the communication needs of deaf individuals in the workplace and community.

The Neurosurgical Society of America said Dr. Peter J. Jannetta, vice-chairman of the department of neurosurgery at Allegheny General Hospital, was awarded its distinguished Medal for Outstanding Service in recognition of his vast contributions to the advancement of medicine. Dr. Jannetta's groundbreaking research into the pathology and treatment of cranial nerve compression syndromes is widely regarded as one of the most important modern day breakthroughs in the field of neurological disease. Compression of cranial nerves can lead to debilitating illnesses that affect sensation and motor function of the tongue, eyes and facial muscles.

Robert Fragasso of Fragasso Financial Advisors was named one of the Top 1000 Financial Advisors in America by Barron's magazine. The ranking was based on data provided by more than 4,000 financial advisers across the United States and considered advisers' assets under management and revenues as well as the quality of their practice and involvement in charitable and philanthropic endeavors.

Janet C. Emery, president, J. Emery Consulting Inc., was named a Trained and Approved Consultant by the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations Standards for Excellence Program: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector. Professionals achieving this designation have demonstrated superior competence in their profession, completed the required PANO facilitation training and committed to upholding the nationally recognized Ethics and Accountability Code.

The A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration at Duquesne University was named one of the nation's top undergraduate business schools by Bloomberg Businessweek. The school, which was one of 13 new institutions added to this year's rankings, entered as No. 78 nationwide and was listed in the top 10 business schools across Pennsylvania.
