Dawn K. Gull was elected treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section. Ms. Gull is a partner at McCarthy McDonald Schulberg & Joy, where she concentrates on all aspects of matrimonial law and adoption.

Mary K. McDonald was elected to the Allegheny County Bar Association Board of Governors. Ms. McDonald is a partner at McCarthy McDonald Schulberg & Joy, where she practices family law.

Hill, Barth & King said Christopher M. Allegretti, managing principal/CEO, was appointed by Newt Gingrich to the Jobs and Prosperity Task Force Advisory Board.

Steven Béla Vardy, Distinguished University Professor of History at Duquesne University, was elected a member of the philosophy and history section of the prestigious Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

First National Investment Services hired Rick Luchini as a financial consultant to its wealth management team.

Ken Fulkerson joined First National Bank as branch manager and is responsible for managing the branch at One Oliver Plaza.


University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health said Sally C. Morton will head its department of biostatistics.

James Zeszutek, managing partner of Dinsmore & Shohl's Pittsburgh office, was elected to the board of advisers at Syracuse University College of Law.

Joel Fishman, assistant director for lawyer services at the Duquesne University School of Law, was appointed president of the Western Pennsylvania Law Library Association for 2010-2011.

Dr. Robert M. Friedlander joined the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine to head the Department of Neurological Surgery.

James Scalo, president, Burns & Scalo Real Estate Services Inc., was appointed to the Shady Side Academy board of trustees.


Hilton Pittsburgh appointed Jim Sega general manager and Tony Aslanian director of sales and marketing.


Maiello Brungo & Maiello was appointed solicitor for the Allegheny County North Tax Collection Committee. Lawrence J. Maiello, Michael L. Brungo and Falco A. Muscante will be the primary attorneys for the TCC.

McGuireWoods said Leonard Marsico, a partner in its Pittsburgh office, was named chair of its complex commercial litigation department.


Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's board of trustees appointed new members: Robert J. Dellinger, senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer, PPG Industries, and Terri S. Wolfe, principal and design director of Wolfe Design, were elected to serve a term as trustees. In addition, current term trustees Henry S. Beukema III, partner, Guyasuta Investment Advisors; Kristen McMahon, library volunteer; Nikki Monroe-Hines, director of operations, Schenley Heights Community Development Program; and Pat Siger, senior vice president and chief development officer, Greater Pittsburgh YMCA, were re-elected to three-year terms; and Lou Testoni, first vice chair; Carol Robinson, second vice chair; Henry S. Beukema III, treasurer; and Susan Jackson, secretary, were elected to serve two-year terms as officers of the board.


Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank added new members to its board: Scott M. Lammie, chief financial officer, UPMC Health Plan and senior vice president of UPMC's insurance services division, and James P. McDonald, managing director, BNY Mellon's Global Philanthropy and Employee Programs.

Heritage Community Initiatives, formerly Heritage Health Foundation, named John English, director of programs; Carol Uminski, transportation manager; Danae Clark, manager of instruction for the MOVE IT job training program; Brenda Henry, manager of outreach for the MOVE IT program; and Jason Wucinski, data entry coordinator.

Milestone Centers Inc. said Maureen Haggarty, Joan Eichner, Karen Caddick and Carol Miller joined its board. Ms. Haggerty is the vice president of development at Family House and Palliative Care; Ms. Eichner is director of Children's Policy at the University of Pittsburgh's Office of Child Development; Ms. Caddick is the first vice president, risk management, for The Bank of New York Mellon Corp.; and Ms. Miller is the associate vice president for Northwestern Regional Operations at Nationwide Insurance and Financial Services.
