Lindsay Lohan is calling in sick.
The "Liz & Dick" actress will be skipping out on an appearance at a Los Angeles courthouse today -- where she is scheduled to answer for charges that she violated her probation -- because she is ill, E! News has confirmed.
According to a court source, Judge Stephanie Sautner received notice Tuesday that the 26-year-old has reportedly come down with the flu in New York City and will be unable to fly to the hearing. Lohan supposedly saw a doctor to determine whether she was healthy enough to make the trip.
Earlier this month, the actress's lawyer pleaded, on her behalf, not guilty to probation violation stemming from a June car crash in which the actress is accused of lying to police.
Lohan has been charged with three misdemeanors: obstruction, providing false information to an officer and driving with wanton disregard.
The star remains on probation for her 2011 jewelry theft case, and in a fortuitous turn of events, Lohan's probation-violation case was transferred to the courtroom of Sautner -- the same judge who presided over the necklace-swiping case and supervised her eventual probation. Lohan's trial is scheduled for Feb. 27.
Taylor Swift says you can expect some of her bolder choices of late -- from her music to her sexier image -- to be incorporated in her upcoming tour, The Associated Press reports.
Swift kicks off her worldwide tour in Omaha, Neb., next month in support of her latest album, "Red," which has sold more than 3 million copies since its release last fall and produced two No. 1 singles -- "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which is up for record of the year at the Grammys next month.
The 23-year-old has been showing a more revealing side lately, with plunging necklines and shorter skirts. Swift says she's just growing up and exploring new options, but assures fans she won't be going too far or revealing too much.
Police in South Florida say rapper Rick Ross crashed his Rolls-Royce into a building after hearing shots fired nearby, the AP reports.
Fort Lauderdale police say Ross and his companion, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-el, reported hearing multiple shots fired in their direction at around 5 a.m. Monday. Police say Ross lost control of the silver Rolls and crashed into an apartment building.
Neither Ross nor his passenger was injured and police say it did not appear that any bullets struck the Rolls.
The police report uses Ross' real name, William L. Roberts. Ross turned 37 Monday.
Authorities say unknown suspects fled before police arrived. TV news footage showed a bullet hole in the window of a nearby restaurant.
A Ross spokesman didn't respond to email seeking comment.
Being Chris Brown might not be easy -- but apparently it's way harder than we thought, E! News reports.
The R&B star, who allegedly was involved in a studio scuffle involving up-and-coming hitmaker Frank Ocean Sunday night, has now posted a photo of a painting of Jesus on the cross, flanked by the two prisoners who were crucified with Christ.
"Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!" Brown wrote with the photo.
Brown didn't directly reference what happened -- or didn't happen -- with Ocean, who he has tangled with before via Twitter, but a source close to the artist told E! News Monday, "It's easy to just assume Chris started this, but it's absolutely not the case."
Ocean, meanwhile, tweeted Sunday night, "Got jumped by chris and a couple guys. Lol ... cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the grammys."
A suspected assault involving Brown is under investigation, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, but authorities would not officially identify Ocean as the alleged victim.
