Anne Hathaway is talking about love and aging in Hollywood while away from the set of "The Dark Knight Rises."
"I find the passing of time very liberating," she told The Associated Press. The actress, who turns 29 in November, added, "I feel more confident every, well not every single day, but most days I feel better than I did the day before, and that's a good thing."
Ms. Hathaway, on a day off from filming in Pittsburgh, hit the red carpet in New York on Monday night, sparkling in a gold and black Alexander McQueen dress, to premiere her latest romantic drama, "One Day." The actress who will be Catwoman said she feels a sense of freedom about approaching 30.
Ms. Hathaway also talked about her love life on Monday.
"I'm a romantic at heart. He's the best!" she told People.com of her boyfriend of three years, Adam Shulman, an actor and jewelry designer. In the new Marie Claire U.K., Ms. Hathaway adds: "I am very much in love with him, [only] Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"
Ms. Hathaway had been involved with Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri, who was convicted of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy in 2008. They split that same year.
Of that relationship, Ms. Hathaway told Marie Claire, "People deal with horrible things all the time. Downstairs in this pub, someone has a parent who is battling cancer. Someone has just lost their job. Life ... is really painful sometimes."
The movie "One Day," based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls, follows the romantic journey of two best friends over 20 years. The film, opening Aug. 19, also stars British actor Jim Sturgess.
Ms. Hathaway co-starred with Jake Gyllenhaal in "Love and Other Drugs," which filmed in Pittsburgh in 2009.
