Houston Harbaugh has promoted Erin C. Farabaugh and Danielle N. Hykes to senior attorneys, and Patrick J. Mondi to senior associate.
Ms. Farabaugh joined the firm in 2011 and concentrates her practice in corporate law, representing clients in a variety of industries, including professional services, emerging technology, banking, health care and retail. She received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Hykes joined the firm in 2008 and concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and transactional law. She also received her law degree from Pitt.
Mr. Mondi joined the firm in 2012 and focuses his legal practice on business transactions and real estate matters. He received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is also an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and is a member of the 153rd Legal Operations Detachment in Coraopolis.
Steven A. Walton of Rothman Gordon was appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Shale Energy Law Committee. His appointment will run through the annual meeting in May 2014. The committee was created to deal with the complex legal and legislative issues associated with this developing energy source in Pennsylvania.
Allegheny County Bar Association has named officers for 2013-2014: President, Nancy L. Heilman; president-elect, James W. Creenan; immediate past president, Mark T. Vuono; treasurer, Mark A. Martini; secretary, Kate J. Fagan; and assistant secretary-treasurer Julie R. Colton.
John P. Gismondi of Gismondi and Associates received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the Legal Intelligencer. The publication selected 27 people who had the most influence on the legal profession in Pennsylvania over the past 20 years. Mr. Gismondi was the only attorney from the Pittsburgh area among the list of awardees.
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC said its intellectual property litigation, licensing and prosecution practices, as well as shareholders Lynn J. Alstadt, Michael L. Dever, David A. Gurwin, Susan M. Hartman and Carla J. Vrsansk, were recommended in the Pennsylvania portion of International Asset Management's Patent 1000, the best-in-class listing of patent prosecution, licensing and litigation practitioners across 50 key jurisdictions.
Mr. Alstadt was noted for his "practical approach to complex patentability and infringement analysis matters;" Mr. Gurwin for his software and media work; Mr. Dever for litigations and licensing and Ms. Vrsansky for her prosecution practice. Mr. Hartman won recognition as "the state's most effective transactional IP specialist."
Grogan Graffam, P.C. announced that shareholders Vincent J. Grogan, Dennis A. Watson, Leo G. Daly, Joseph A. Macerelli, John A. Bass, Bethann R. Lloyd and Holly M. Whalen were named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2013. In addition, Russell D. Giancola was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star.
