American Airlines will start nonstop service to Los Angeles from Pittsburgh International Airport August 27, offering travelers another option to get to the west coast.

The airline announced today that Pittsburgh will be among seven cities to get nonstop service to Los Angeles International Airport. In a press release, the carrier said it is significantly expanding flights into its LA hub this year.

No other details were available this morning about the service from Pittsburgh, such as the number of flights a day or departure times. American stated on its website the flight would be available for booking starting April 14.

United Airlines is the only carrier that currently offers nonstop service to LA from Pittsburgh. It does so four days a week.
