Thorp Reed & Armstrong, a Downtown-based law firm that has practiced in the city for more than a century, is merging with Detroit firm Clark Hill.
The combined firm, which will be known as Clark Hill Thorp Reed, will have 300-plus attorneys in 12 offices.
The firms had been in merger discussions for several months.
Jeffrey Conn, Thorp Reed's managing partner, will be partner in charge of the Pittsburgh office and will sit on the executive committee. John Hern Jr., chief executive of Clark Hill, will also be chief executive of the merged firm.
