Burgatory, a local hamburger haven, will open its first Downtown restaurant at the Gardens of Market Square in the summer of 2014.
The restaurant has signed a lease to occupy 4,200 square feet of retail space in the $81.8 million office and hotel tower to be built on Forbes Avenue near the square, about a block from Winghart's Burger & Whiskey Bar.
Burgatory now has a restaurant in the Waterworks Mall and a stand at Consol Energy Center.
Millcraft hopes to start construction of the 18-story high-rise before the end of the year and have it completed in early 2014. It will include 120,000 square feet of office space and a 175-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel. Construction firm Dck Worldwide will be taking 30,000 square feet of office space in the building.
"We are delighted to have them as a restaurant anchor for our newest mixed use development," Lucas Piatt, Millcraft's chief operating officer, said in a press release. "They are a great addition to our Downtown portfolio and fit perfectly with all of the commercial and residential developments that we have worked on over the last five years."
