JetBlue Airways plans to add two nonstop flights to Boston from Pittsburgh International Airport by June 17.
The airline will resume a seasonal nonstop flight to Boston's Logan International Airport starting May 1. It will leave Pittsburgh at 9:25 a.m. The flight will run until the end of the summer.
On June 17, the airline will add another daily nonstop flight. It will leave Pittsburgh at 12:51 p.m. It is expected to be a permanent addition.
The flights will utilize Embraer E190 aircraft. JetBlue currently has one daily nonstop flight to Boston from Pittsburgh using the same type of plane.
The airport is excited about the additions, spokesman Jeff Martinelli said. "Boston's one of our biggest markets. It's certainly a big business market for us," he said. "It gives us more options for our business traveler."
US Airways also flights to Boston from Pittsburgh, averaging five daily nonstops.
