Craftsmen's Guild receives honors
Worth Magazine has chosen the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild as one of the top 100 nonprofit organizations in the country.
In the December/January issue of the magazine, in an article titled "To Give Well, Give Wisely," the guild was chosen as one of 24 arts organizations to make the "Top 100 Charities List."
For the second consecutive year, the magazine has identified those charities that are doing the best job, dollar for dollar, of mitigating the world's problems. The magazine separated the nonprofits into six categories -- environment, relief and development, health, human services, education and the arts.
Earnings
JLG Industries Inc., McConnellsburg, Fulton County, said fiscal first-quarter net income was $329,000, or 1 cent per diluted share, vs. $2.4 million, or 6 cents per diluted share. Including a change in accounting, JLG lost $112.1 million, or $2.64 per diluted share, a year ago. The most recent results include a $1 million increase in bad debt expense and higher foreign exchange losses. Revenue totaled $160.5 million vs. $156.2 million a year ago.

Sky Financial Group Inc., Bowling Green, Ohio, increased the quarterly dividend on the common stock by 1 cent to 20 cents a share, payable Jan. 2 to shareholders of record Dec. 16.
