National Record Mart Inc. keeps churning out the numbers, even though the Carnegie music retailer in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization hasn't been able to get its financials audited. The chain posted a first-quarter loss of $6.5 million, or $1.29 per diluted share, vs. a loss of $4.2 million, or 83 cents, a year ago. Sales fell 31.8 percent to $20.6 million. Officials blamed the drop on the closing of 47 underperforming stores as well as a 23.6 percent drop in sales at stores open at least a year.

The company's software overlays complex data with simpler visual images that can be viewed and altered over the Web.
