Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney said attorneys Patrick C. Keane and Arthur J. Rooney, II, have been selected to the 2013 Irish Legal 100, a listing of the leading figures in law across the United States. Mr. Keane is an executive shareholder who focuses his practice on intellectual property counseling, including patent litigation and IP portfolio development. He has more than 20 years of experience representing small-, mid- and large-cap companies in federal court actions and in proceeding before the International Trade Commissions. Mr. Rooney, II, who is of counsel, concentrates his practice on the areas of corporate finance, sports law and government affairs.

Leech Tishman hired Ashley R. Hileman, Alec B. Wright and Christina S. Zanic to its Pittsburgh office. Ms. Hileman joined as an associate in the firm's corporate and real estate practice groups, where she will counsel clients on issues related to business formation and entity selection, corporate governance and due diligence. On the real estate side, she will be involved in advising clients in transactions involving the negotiation, leasing, property development, sale, and acquisition of commercial property. Mr. Wright joined as an associate in the firm's litigation and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice groups. He will be advising clients on complex and commercial litigation issues. On the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights side, he will be involved in counseling clients on issues related to bankruptcy proceedings as well as out-of-court workouts and restructurings.

Ms. Zanics joined as an associate in the corporate and real estate practice groups. She will be advising clients on issues related to commercial contracts, business formation and entity selection, corporate governance and due diligence. On the real estate side, she will counsel clients in transactions involving the negotiation, financing, restructuring, leasing, property development, sale, and acquisition of commercial property. She will also assist clients with issues related to zoning and land use.

Six lawyers from the Pittsburgh law firm of Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. were selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2014 for their work and accomplishments in the area of family law: Mark R. Alberts, Charles J. Avalli, Kerri Lee Cappella, Gary G. Gentile, Harry J. Gruener and Kenneth J. Horoho, Jr. In addition, Mr. Avalli was recognized in the areas of trusts and estates as well as trust and estate litigation.

Mr. Alberts, principal, earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He concentrates his practice in the areas of family law litigation as well as civil litigation. He also represents small and medium-sized businesses in a variety of legal matters. Mr. Avalli, shareholder, has extensive experience in all aspects of estate litigation, estate planning, and estate administration. Ms. Cappella, principal, received her law degree from Pitt. She concentrates her practice in the area of matrimonial law. Mr. Gentile, shareholder, also received his J.D. from Pitt. Mr. Horoho, shareholder, received his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law. In addition, Mr. Horoho is an adjunct professor at Pitt's law school, where he teaches a course on Advanced Family Law Trial Advocacy. Mr. Gruener, Of Counsel, has concentrated his practice in family law since 1981, after 12 years of practice as a civil trial lawyer in both state and federal courts. He is a law professor at Pitt, where he teaches courses in family law and supervises the law school’s Family Law legal Clinic. 

Brett Solomon, shareholder, Tucker Arensberg, P.C, was elected to the board of Law Firm Alliance, to serve a three-year term. LFA is a strategic alliance of mid-sized law firms created to provide clients with capable and responsive legal services through a reliable national and international network of member firms.

Edgar Snyder & Associates has received Tier 1 rankings in the categories of Pittsburgh Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation and Pittsburgh Plaintiff’s Product Liability Litigation from U.S. News' Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” survey.

Jubelirer, Pass & Intrieri, P.C. said Amanda B. Bundick joined as an associate, practicing in the areas of labor and employment law, ERISA and workers compensation. She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In addition, the firm has again been named a top tier law firm by US News & World Report for 2014.

Also, five members of the firm have again been listed in Best Lawyers in America for 2014: Joseph J. Pass, Ernest B. Orsatti and Robert A. Eberle in the area of labor and employment, and Edward H. Walter and James A. Welker in the area of workers compensation. Mr. Pass and Mr. Orsatti have also been selected as Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2014.
