The Pennsylvania Supreme Court named Robert N. Peirce Jr. of Robert Peirce & Associates to the court's Elder Law Task Force. The mission is to study the growing problems with guardianship, abuse and neglect, and access to justice that many older Pennsylvanians face. Mr. Peirce is serving on the task force's elder abuse and neglect committee.

Dinsmore & Shohl said Louis M. Oliverio has joined as partner, Of Counsel, practicing in the corporate department and focusing on real estate and commercial law. Mr. Oliverio has practiced real estate law for more than 15 years, most recently at DLA Piper in Atlanta. He represents real estate developers, hospital systems and health care providers in health care real estate transactions, and retail companies in commercial real estate and corporate matters.

Goehring, Rutter and Boehm said Lisa M. Goodman has joined as a member in the firm's litigation group. Her practice focuses in the areas of labor and employment, construction and toxic tort. She has extensive pre-trial and trial experience in various areas of the law, including employment discrimination law and personal injury litigation. She earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.

Bunde, Gillotti, Mulroy & Shultz, PC said Chris F. Gillotti was selected by the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Board of Governors as the recipient of the PBA's 2013 Special Achievement Award. He was chosen due to his 25 years of service with the PBA's Judicial Evaluation Commission, which interviews and gives recommendations and ratings on potential judicial candidates for the appellate courts of Pennsylvania. With over 50 years of experience devoted to family law matters, Mr. Gillotti has expertise in the areas of divorce, equitable division of property and prenuptial agreements.

Ms. Biedinger is a graduate of Duquesne's School of Law, and a licensed patent attorney.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney said the following attorneys from its Pittsburgh office were named as Best Lawyers' 2014 Lawyers of the Year: Lynn J. Alstadt, patent law; Bruce A. Americus, mining law; Hannah T. Frank, mergers and acquisitions law; Jeremiah G. Garvey, Pittsburgh securities and capital markets law; Thomas S. Giotto, labor law (management); and Calvin R. Harvey, Pittsburgh banking and finance law.

Kathleen Nandan has joined Reed Smith LLP's Pittsburgh office as counsel in its global regulatory enforcement practice group. For the past 13 years, she has served in the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of New York. In her most recent role as principal deputy chief, Ms. Nandan was second-in-command to one of the largest civil divisions in the country, overseeing affirmative practice, including health care and mortgage fraud, and was an authority in federal asset forfeiture, money laundering, and complex financial investigations. Ms Nandan obtained her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
