Jones Day lawyer recipient of Athena Award

Laura Ellsworth, partner in charge of law firm Jones Day's Pittsburgh office, received the annual Greater Pittsburgh Athena Award today.

The award recognizes a woman who has displayed leadership through professional excellence, involvement in community affairs and mentoring other women.

Other finalists for this year's award were Lenore Blum, professor at Carnegie Mellon University; Terri Bone, vice president and corporate controller at EQT Corp.; Maurita Bryant, assistant chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police; and Titina Ott, vice president of business process and systems enablement at Oracle Worldwide Alliance & Channels.

The 2013 Athena Young Professional Award was presented to Amiena Mahsoob, director of education programs for the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh.
