He also assists families with special needs planning for people with disabilities. Mr. Morgan earned his law degree from Duquesne University. Southwinds provides residency and skills-development to adults with intellectual and developmental challenges.
Beck & Thomas P.C. said James G. Dilmore has joined the firm as a patent agent. Mr. Dilmore previously practiced in the intellectual property group at Reed Smith, where he prosecuted medical device, biotechnological and chemical patent applications and supported counseling and litigation on pharmaceutical and industrial matters. He is in the final year of the evening program at Duquesne Law School, where he serves as executive articles editor of Law Review.
Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP elected new partners, Cami L. Davis and Stephen J. Mandel. Ms. Davis is a member of the firm's labor and employment practice group, counseling employers in multiple industries on all aspects of the employment relationship. She earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Mandel is a member of the firm's commercial, real estate and public finance practice group, representing borrowers and lenders in secured and unsecured commercial finance transactions. He earned his J.D. from Fordham University.
Leech Tishman said Dylan B. Spadaccino joined its Pittsburgh office, as an associate in its construction and litigation practice groups, where he will focus on construction-related legal matters. Mr. Spadaccino represents subcontractors, contractors, design-builders, owners, and construction managers on both public and private projects in a wide range of areas including commercial, federal contracting, industrial, institutional, heavy and highway, and oil and gas construction projects.
Also, Maria Frollo joined as the firm's first financial controller. Ms. Frollo was previously senior accountant at Hill Barth & King LLC, where she specialized in process improvements to create efficiency and accuracy in clients' accounting records, profit planning and financial reporting.
Houston Harbaugh elected three attorneys to its 2013 Executive Committee: Michael J. Dempster, Mary-Jo Rebelo and Alex W. Thomson. Mr. Dempster concentrates his practice in corporate and commercial transactions, including real estate development. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Ms. Rebelo concentrates on the areas of commercial litigation and employment law. She received her law degree from Duquesne, she was editor-in-chief of the Duquesne Law Review.
Mr. Thomson concentrates his practice in the area of business law and heads the firm's corporate department. He received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of the Law Review. He has also earned a MBA from Pitt.
In addition, firm officers were elected as follows: President Alex W. Thomson; treasurer John M. Hartzell Jr.; and secretary James R. Carlisle II.
Mr. Hartzell concentrates in the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration, heading the firm's estates and trusts group. He received his J.D. from Duquesne and an MBA from Clarion University.
Mr. Carlisle heads the firm's business owner exit planning group and is a director in the corporate department. He specializes in structuring, negotiating and closing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations, and he serves as corporate counsel for privately-held companies.
