Leech Tishman announced Brett Mankey has joined the firm's corporate practice group. Mr. Mankey focuses his practice on corporate transactions and has represented private equity and venture capital firms, entrepreneurs and others in a wide range of industries, including software, Internet, medical devices, and telecommunication.


Michael J. Tarutis has joined Spilman Thomas & Battle's Pittsburgh office. He is a member of the firm's corporate finance practice group, and he focuses on start-up and early-stage firms. Additionally, Mr. Tarutis will represent natural gas and other energy clients in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and will assist energy clients in establishing internal compliance programs.

Zionist Organization of America announced that Jeffrey Pollock, an attorney and mediator, was honored with ZOA-Pittsburgh District's 2012 "Natalie E. Novick Community Leadership Award" for his decades of local volunteer efforts and "pro bono" legal contributions for non-profit groups.


Chris F. Gillotti of Bunde, Gillotti, Mulroy & Shultz, P.C. was named to the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the Family Law category. A founding member of BGMS, with over 50 years of experience devoted exclusively to family law matters, Mr. Gillotti has expertise in the areas of child custody, divorce, equitable division of property and prenuptial agreements. In addition, the firm was recognized as a 2013 Best Lawyers' "Best Law Firm" in the category of family law.


William Campbell Ries, chair of Tucker Arensberg's Investment Management and Fiduciary Services Practice Group, was named chair of the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission's Advisory Committee on Decedents' Estates Laws. The advisory committee consists of lawyers, judges and law professors and recommends estate and trust legislation to the Pennsylvania Legislature.


State Sen. Jay Costa, D-Forrest Hills, has recommended attorney Ira Weiss to be reappointed to the eight-member Legislative Audit Advisory Commission. The role of the Legislative Audit Advisory Commission is to examine the standards of audits of affairs of the Legislature and legislative agencies.

Cohen & Grigsby said Kimberly Hileman has joined the firm's Pittsburgh office as senior government relations specialist. Ms. Hileman will work with the firm's public affairs practice group to advise clients on legislative issues. She will also work to secure state and local grants for clients, and execute effective government affairs strategies.
