Awards and Honors
Karen Glass, an Advanced Burn Life Support instructor and LifeFlight nurse employed by the Allegheny Health Network has received a Trauma Prevention Award from the American Trauma Society, PA Division. Ms. Glass was chosen for this award due to her dedication to burn education and trauma prevention. As an ABLS instructor, Ms. Glass travels across the state to teach courses in burn emergency care, trauma care and treatment of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. She works with both the West Penn Burn Center at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital and LifeFlight, the Network's emergency helicopter service based at Allegheny General Hospital. She also recently received the "EMS Practitioner of the Year" award at the Annual Pennsylvania EMS I Conference.datelinepittsburgh
