Awards

Ernst & Young LLP said Chuck Sanders, founder and CEO of Urban Lending Solutions, was the winner for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award in the Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia region for the services industry. Mr. Sanders was selected by an independent judging panel made up of previous winners of the award, leading CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business leaders. As a regional award winner, Mr. Sanders is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Program, as well as the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, which will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on Nov. 17.

Rebecca Lucore, executive director of the Bayer USA Foundation, was named as one of the 100 Women Leaders in STEM by STEMconnector for her demonstrated leadership and advocacy for STEM -- science, technology, engineering and mathematics -- education.

The Sustainable Energy Fund honored David Hughes, founder and president, Citizen Power, with the Epstein Award, a lifetime achievement award. The award is named after Eric Epstein, a Harrisburg-area community advocate who has worked to promote the use of safe energy sources since the Three Mile Island nuclear plant accident in 1979.

Goff Backa Alfera & Company LLC said Jaclyn L. Foutz, was selected for inclusion in the 2012-2013 40 Under 40: PICPA Members to Watch class. Ms. Foutz graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University with a bachelor's degree in business administration with concentrations in accounting and finance.
