Accounting

Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP hired three college students for summer internship positions with the assurance and advisory services group: D.J. Krystek, Abby Schulz and Amber Trumbetta.

Associations & Organizations

Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh installed officers and board members for 2012-13: Chair: Joel M. Rosenthal; chair-elect: Wendy M. Mars; vice chairs: Matthew A. Keller and Stanley Levine; treasurer: David R. Lassman; secretary: Fern Grossman Schwartz; and ad hoc officer: Jeffrey D. Freedman. Members elected to the board: Colin M. Rosenberg, wealth advisor and executive director, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Victor Rudkin, physician at Highmark; and Carole Miner Schuman, attorney, Sitko Bruno LLC. Jan Henry, who served as board chair during fiscal years 2007-08 and 2008-09, was named director emeritus. President & CEO is Aryeh Sherman.

The Master Builders' Association appointed James Frantz to the position of chairman of the MBA Education Committee. Mr. Frantz is president of TEDCO Construction Corp.

John F. Buzzatto, an orthodontist who has offices in Allison Park and Bridgeville, was elected the 2012-13 president of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Banking

First Commonwealth Bank hired John H. Cashman as vice president and business banking area manager.

Contractor & Construction

Burns & Scalo hired Brian Winowich as account manager. Mr. Winowich will focus his efforts on growing Burns & Scalo's commercial customer base in Western Pennsylvania.

Education

Eric Holmes, a member of the Slippery Rock University Council of Trustees since 2009, was elected chair of the council. Mr. Holmes, a Pittsburgh native and 1993 SRU graduate, has served Pittsburgh as a law enforcement officer for 15 years, currently in the rank of sergeant. He also is a consultant for higher education institutions.

Media

Cornerstone TeleVision Network hired Curt Hanna as senior producer for the station's talk and ministry program, Focus 4.

Nonprofit

Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project named Brian Magee chief executive officer effective June 1. He replaces Erin Molchany, who resigned earlier this year to run for state representative.

Tom Wiese was named executive director of Girls Hope of Pittsburgh.

Professional Services

PEAK Technical Staffing USA named Kevin J. Kutzavitch, vice president of sales.

Theatre

Donna Goyak, Attack Theatre's general director for the last five years, has left the company this summer to pursue other professional interests. A valued staff member of Attack Theatre for more than six years, Rebecca Himberger was promoted to executive director last Sunday.

Transportation

Andrew Terrell joined PSI's manager-in-training in its construction services department.

Awards/Honors

Donna Imhoff, president, North Campus and West Hills Center at the Community College of Allegheny County, was honored with the 2012 Tribute to Women Leadership Award in Education from YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. Ms. Imhoff holds a bachelor's of science in rehabilitation education from the Pennsylvania State University, a master's of science in education in school psychology from Duquesne University, a master's certificate in women's studies from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in social and comparative analysis in education from Pitt.

Ernst & Young LLP said Rich Lunak of Innovation Works received the 2012 Supporter of Entrepreneurship Entrepreneur Of The Year Award for Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia region. The Entrepreneur Of The Year program, now in its 26th year, celebrates entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. In 2011 alone, the EOY nominees from Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia employed over 40,000 people and generated more than $10 billion in annual revenue.

Michael Egan, general manager of Westmoreland Mall, was awarded Outstanding Leasing by a Mall Manager for CBL & Associates Properties Inc.
