Associations & Organizations

Joyce A. Bender was elected board chair of the American Association of People with Disabilities for a two-year term. Ms. Bender is president and CEO of Bender Consulting Services Inc. and hosts a weekly radio show, "Disability Matters with Joyce Bender" on www.voice.voiceamerica.com, focusing on issues associated with employment and empowerment of people with disabilities.

The Pennsylvania Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus elected Joseph R. McGrath board chairman. Mr. McGrath is president and CEO of VisitPittsburgh.

Education

Duquesne University appointed Todd Eicker to the newly created position of graduate admissions director.

Engineering

Michael Baker Corp. appointed G. John Kurgan chief operating officer and Michael J. Zugay chief administrative officer.

John Miller was named NDE services department manager at Professional Service Industries Inc.'s Pittsburgh operations office.

Environmental

Carl Spadaro joined MAX Environmental Technologies Inc. as environmental general manager.

Health

Jordan Hinds joined Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC as community program specialist and the Safe Kids Allegheny County coordinator.

Dr. Kimberly Price joined Fatigati-Nalin Associates, a division of St. Clair Medical Services. Dr. Price will practice out of the group's Robinson and Bethel Park offices.

Dr. Nithin V. Bhandarkar joined Fatigati-Nalin Associates, a division of St. Clair Medical Services. Dr. Bhandarkar will practice out of the group's Peters Township office.

Paul Szabolcs, a pioneer in reduced-toxicity cord blood and marrow transplantation, was appointed chief of the newly established division of blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapies at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Dr. Szabolcs is also a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dan Senisi was named general manager of Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh Airport and Jacksons Restaurant-Rotisserie Bar.

Manufacturing

Wright Therapy Products Inc. said Michael Hinson was appointed president and CEO.

Marketing

Quest Fox Interactive hired Amanda Shearer as the SEO and media strategist.

Nonprofit

Angie Longo, director of public relations and organizational advancement, Renewal Inc., and Richard E. Brok, vice president, S&T Wealth Management, were appointed to the development advisory board of Variety the Children's Charity.

SMC Business Councils said Annette M. Testa joined as its communications editor.

Professional Services

Sir Speedy Printing and Marketing hired David J. DeLorenzo as an account executive.
