Saxonburg optics company reaps profit

​Saxonburg-based laser and infrared optics company II-VI Inc. reported fourth-quarter net income of $12.6 million, or $0.21 per share, up from $10 million, or $0.16 per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenue was for the quarter ended June 30 was $188 million, up from $154 million last year.

For the fiscal year​,​ II-VI saw net income ​decline, from $5 ​1 million, or ​$0.​80 per share​ last year, to $38.4 million or $0.60 per share this year. ​ Revenues for 201​4​ ​rose, however, to $683 million, compared to $55​1 million last fiscal yer.

A​nalysts po​l​led by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report ​​profit ​of $0.19 per share for the quarter. ​
