NOLA, Perlé to reopen July 15

New Orleans-inspired restaurant NOLA and Perlé champagne lounge are set to reopen in July, five months after a kitchen fire caused heavy damage and closed both Market Square businesses for repairs.

The two will reopen July 15, and a grand opening "JazzFest Celebration Weekend" is scheduled for July 18 and 19.

Fire investigators said the Feb. 24 blaze is thought to have started in the ceiling area above the wood fire oven and spread to Bruegger's Bagels and Perlé, drawing dozens of firefighters to Market Square during the lunch hour.

NOLA’s renovations include a new Pavesi oven with a fire protection hood system, a spokeswoman for Big Y Restaurant Group, which includes NOLA and Perlé, said in a press release.
