Delta Air Lines will add three daily nonstop flights to Boston from Pittsburgh International Airport this spring.
The airline announced this afternoon that the new service would begin April 1.
Flights will depart from Pittsburgh at 7 a.m., noon, and 5:40 p.m. Return flights from Boston will leave at 9:30 a.m., 3:05 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. daily.
Spokesman Trebor Banstetter said Delta decided to add the flights based on expected demand.
"We're always looking for the opportunity to add new service on routes where we think there is demand. This is a route we thought there is some type of demand. We thought we would give it a try," he said.
With the new service, Delta will operate 36 flights a day to eight cities, including Paris, from Pittsburgh.
The Boston flights will be served by a 50-seat regional jet.
