The Pittsburgh chapter of The Risk Management Association named the following executives as officers for 2003-04: President: Joseph Toth, Dollar Bank; first vice president, John Fetsko, Sky Bank; second vice president: David Miller, U.S. Small Business Administration; secreary/treasurer: Mark Buchek, Dollar Bank; and immediate past president: John Duggan, PNC Advisors.

Banking, Finance

Citizens Financial Group Inc. has named Francis A. Doyle and George L. Miles Jr. to its board of directors. Doyle is president and CEO of Connell Limited Partnership and Miles is president and CEO of WQED Multimedia.

Communications, Advertising

Kolbrener Inc. hired Angela Sickafoose as senior designer.

Consulting

Yanni Partners Inc. hired Michael E. Nelson as an investment consulting analyst.

GSP Consulting hired Larry Bertuola as director of the firm's Philadelphia office.

Design

Hammer Design Associates Inc. promoted Teri L. Lattanzio to associate.

Education

Carnegie Mellon University School of Design hired new faculty members: Shelley Evenson, associate professor of Interaction Design, and two junior faculty positions, filled by Stacie Rohrbach and Mark Baskinger.

Health and Medicine

WestArm Therapy Services hired Martin Brea and William L. Siegel as certified athletic trainers. Brea has been assigned to work at the New Kensington-Arnold School District and Siegel at the Freeport Area School District.

Alle-Kiski Medical Center announced the addition of Carolyn A. Chambers, M.D., obstetrician and gynecologist, in association with Youssef S. Ragheb, M.D. Her practice group will be titled Alle-Kiski Women's Health.

Law

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote named shareholders Joseph S. D. Christof II and Steven W. Zoffer to co-chair the newly restructured commercial law and litigation practice group. Christof will continue to chair the environmental law group and Zoffer retains his chairmanship of the technology law practice group.

Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis announced that six attorneys have been named partners. Dionna K. Litvin and Anne E. Kane, who practice in the litigation services department, join Andrea Hyatt Callan of the trusts and estates practice group, partners in the Philadelphia office, and Keith E. Whitson and Gregory H. Teufel in Pittsburgh, and Benjamin P. Deutsch in New York, with the firm's litigation services department.

Manufacturing

U.S. Steel Corp. announced that Leonard H. Chuderewicz, vice president-diversified businesses, will retire at the end of this month after serving the company for 32 years.

Nonprofit

SCORE announced the appointment of David Brakoniecki as a counselor advising small-business owners in the Pittsburgh area.

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh appointed Ilene Greenstone director of the Early Childhood Development Center.

Mainstay Life Services named new members to its board: Marvin Gold, an independent fund-raising consultant specializing in capital campaigns, and Susan Highley, a real estate agent with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.

Professional Services

PricewaterhouseCoopers announced that Robert McCutcheon has been admitted to the firm's partnership. McCutcheon will serve as partner in the assurance and business advisory practice in the Pittsburgh office.

BUSINESS NOTES

Voest-Alpine Services & Technologies Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau, acquired a majority interest in Steel Related Technology (SRT), Blytheville, Ark. SRT provides long-term caster maintenance services to the North American steel industry.

CONTRACTS

Underground Solutions Inc. contracted J. Fletcher Creamer & Son Inc. to rehabilitate a section of waterline using its Duraliner System for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. J. Fletcher Creamer & Son Inc. is a certified teaming contractor with Underground Solutions for its patented Duraliner Water Line Replacement System which allows municipalities to completely rehabilitate deteriorated underground water lines with minimal excavation.

World Health Alternatives renewed a staffing contract with McAuley Medical Associates. The one-year contract, estimated at $750,000, has renewal options for several years and is implemented by the company's MedTech medical staffing division, which already has completed $200,000 worth of work.

MTA Long Island Rail Road has awarded a contract to Union Switch & Signal for a microprocessor-based signal system for the New Jamaica Interlocking.

Ragnar Benson Inc. was awarded a $12.5 million design-build contract for a student housing facility for Fairmont State College in Fairmont, W.Va. The project will be a collaborative effort between VOA Architects and RBI. The dormitory is scheduled to open in fall 2004.

Mind Over Media announced that Old Dominion University has chosen its DVD Strategy and Product for extending capital campaign momentum. Mind Over Media will develop a DVD that showcases ODU's capital campaign strategic initiatives.

DIVIDENDS

WesBanco Inc. declared a third-quarter dividend of 24 cents per share on its common stock, payable Oct. 1 to shareholders of record Sept. 5.

H.J. Heinz Co. declared a quarterly dividend of 27 cents per share on its common stock, payable Oct. 10 to shareholders of record Sept. 23.

John A . Webster, executive mortgage representative, Dollar Bank residential lending, has earned the award as top producer for July and August, based on highest dollar amount and highest unit count of loans closed.

Babst Calland Clements & Zomnir was named Pennsylvania's top environmental law firm by Chambers & Partners Legal Publisher's Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers 2003-04. Founders Chester R. Babst and Dean A. Calland were named the leading individuals in the environmental law field.
