Location, location, location
I enjoyed your article on Pittsburgh's first gas station ("Pittsburgh's Century-Old Drive-In Gas Station First Of Its Kind," Dec. 1) -- very historical!
Could it be that the location was selected because many of Pittsburgh's most prominent families, including Heinz and Mellon families, lived in East Liberty at that time?
Also, as a former chairman of Grove City's Planning Commission, and former Realtor, I have to wonder how the owners of the rather substantial homes across the street must have felt about their new neighbor.
