Dawood Engineering, Inc. said Brian L. Fischbach joined as director of civil engineering. Working from the Dawood Pittsburgh Regional Office in Canonsburg, Mr. Fischbach will be responsible for the oversight and strategic planning of land and site development projects across all Dawood offices.


Tucker Arensberg, P.C. announced that Homer L. Walton was honored as one of the New Pittsburgh Courier 50 Men of Excellence. The Men of Excellence celebrates local African-American men from various fields who motivate and inspire others through their vision, leadership, exceptional achievements and participation in the community. Mr. Walton is a shareholder and co-chair of the labor and employment group. He defends clients in employment-related litigation before federal and state courts and agencies. Raymond Roberts of Rothman Gordon was selected to join the Board of the Autism Center of Pittsburgh. He serves with the estates, trusts and taxation group, assisting clients with estate planning, estate administration and probate. In addition, he has a corporate and real estate practice. He earned his JD from Duquesne University School of Law. The Autism Center of Pittsburgh offers guidance to parents of children with autism including provide prompt referral to valuable resources, no-wait expert evaluation, counseling, service dogs, autism awareness seminars, workshops, respite outings, video-blog, music therapy, recreational activities, a 900 member on-line support group, an on-line store with therapeutic materials, the nation-wide resource network of AutismLink, and more.

Grogan Graffam, P.C. said that shareholders Vincent J. Grogan, Dennis A. Watson, Joseph A. Macerelli, Leo G. Daly, George M. Evan, John A. Bass, Bethann R. Lloyd and Holly M. Whalen were named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2014. Mr. Grogan, one of the founding shareholders, has been a trial attorney for 50 years and is widely known and respected in commercial litigation matters, real estate law and professional liability defense; Mr. Watson, president, concentrates his practice in complex commercial, construction, maritime, insurance and personal injury litigation; Mr. Macerelli chairs the professional liability practice group; Mr. Macerelli is also a formally trained mediator and has participated in numerous ADR proceedings including mediation and arbitration; Mr. Daly chairs the litigation practice group; Mr. Evan is a shareholder in its litigation practice group, he concentrates his practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on workers’ compensation, civil rights, municipal law, insurance law, premises liability, auto liability and contract litigation; Mr. Bass, shareholder in its professional liability practice group, concentrates his practice in medical malpractice and nursing home defense; Ms. Lloyd, shareholder in the litigation practice group, concentrates her practice in the areas of insurance defense, professional liability defense including defense of legal malpractice cases, commercial litigation, employment litigation and civil rights matters.

Maiello Brungo & Maiello announced that the Greenville Area School District has appointed the law firm as solicitor for the district. In that role, the firm will represent the district in legal matters relating to employment, labor, litigation, special education, public finance and other general business issues.
