Gateway Center put on sale again
Gateway Center is up for sale again. The four-building complex is being marketed by its owner, Los Angeles-based Hertz Investment Group. Hertz originally put the complex up for sale in 2010 but pulled it off the market about seven months later.
Allegheny Health Network bans smoking on property
Allegheny Health Network’s entire hospital system will be smoke-free starting on Jan. 1. While all of the campuses will be smoke-free, employees will be able to smoke when they leave or are on break, so long as they leave hospital property. Two of AHN’s hospitals, Jefferson and Saint Vincent, already had a smoking ban in place.
Wolfe named finalist for entrepreneur of the year
Jason Wolfe, founder and CEO of Green Tree-based GiftCards.com, is among a short list of finalists for Irvine, Calif.,-based Entrepreneur Magazine’s Entrepreneur of 2014 contest.
Forbes Funds names new executive in residence
The Forbes Funds named Matt Zieger as executive in residence for social innovation. He was formerly president and chief executive of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, a nonprofit that develops public-private partnerships.
Chiquita Brands recieves big buyout offer
Chiquita Brands has received an approximately $611 million buyout offer from investment firm Safra Group and agribusiness and juice company Cutrale Group. The unsolicited bid comes as Chiquita and Fyffes of Ireland were working on their own transaction that would move Chiquita’s headquarters from North Carolina to Dublin.
