PPG Industries today said it will acquire Hi-Temp Coatings Technology Co., a Massachusetts-based maker of industrial coatings.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hi-Temp, which is privately held, produces coatings designed to resist extremely high temperatures. Its products are used in refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper mills, and power plants.

PPG, which had global sales last year of $15.1 billion, said it expects the acquisition to close in the first quarter.
