A 17-year-old Pittsburgh youth died early today after being shot in the head in the Hill District on Friday night.
Tymere Pryor, 17, was pronounced dead at at 3:55 a.m. at UPMC Presbyterian where he was transported following the shooting incident, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the Emergency Operations Center received a 911 call at 9:30 p.m., reporting a young man lying unresponsive on steps near the intersection of Webster Avenue and Orion Street.
Emergency personnel responded but Mr. Pryor's gunshot wound was not discovered until he arrived at Presby, Ms. Toler said. A police investigation into the circumstances of the shooting immediately began.
